SMEG in the City: Presence, Pink Gin, and 50+ of Toronto's Best
Exceptional People. The SMEG Showroom. A conversation about what actually matters.
The Meetwell ventured to Yorkville this spring for an evening at the SMEG Showroom — all clean lines and warm light, the kind of flagship that makes you want to touch everything, and several of our members left already planning their next kitchen upgrade.
Janice Liu, CEO of The Mantis Group, sat down with us for a fireside chat that quickly stopped feeling like one. Less "interview," more "the conversation you wish your group chat had." She got us talking about presence — actually being where you are instead of three meetings ahead in your head. About grace, the kind high performers love to hand out to everyone except themselves. And about focus: trusting your mind and memory to remember what’s important, and focusing on that.
You could feel it land. Not polite nodding — the kind of quiet where people are mentally rearranging their whole week.
And then there was the gin. Joie de Vivre never just shows up - they show up and steal the show, one perfectly poured pink pour at a time. If you know, you know. If you don't, you're missing out (and also, come to the next one).
Here's the thing about this community: everyone in that room is a high performer, engaged, energized, and genuinely excited about what's next. That's the thread running through every Meetwell night. When you bring the right people together in the right space for the right conversation … everything elevates. The people make the room. The room makes the magic. The gin just makes it better.
Can't wait for the next one.
